Ellipse

Ellipse is geometric sculpture, designed from a simple form that was revolved and extruded to create a form with simple curves but changes as the viewer turns around the piece.

The finish of the sculpture was created through fire, using an alternative firing methods that has been used for centuries called smoke firing. The ware is buried in sawdust and combustables and a fire is lit, creating rich tones of colour from the smoke.
